Our environment naturally influences our art… I own two parakeets, Aria and Skylar. I also have a fun birdhouse in the back with bird feeders around. I love to watch and see them play and work together. There are times they don’t get along… those times seem rare in comparison to all the lightness of just living.
As I sat down this morning, I could hear my babies talking with the birds outdoors (which they do often) and then seeing birds moving about outside the window.
When I think about the three tenants – Kindness, Beauty and Truth, I felt very connected to the life of the bird. I think of the love and commitment of a bonded pair of ducks, the care of the nest building, the encouragement of the mama bird for babies to leave the nest and even the uncomfortable truth of a mama bird removing a sick baby for the health of the nest.
We’ve had some beautiful days lately and then extreme shifts between warm and cool days… Also known as typical Midwestern weather… This has been the norm my entire life… It’s different to sit in the present of the transition. Last night we had an amazing storm with wind, lightening, rain and hail. This morning, the birds are busy with gathering supplies for their nests, taking full advantage of the storm.
Today is a GREAT day… the colors are vibrant within my creating. I’m sensing a shift as Spring is around the corner.
