Creativity comes in all sorts of ways.
Creativity offers the opportunity for healthy respite from the intensity of grief.
Creativity has this nice benefit of processing all the “stuff” of life in the background while in flow with your creating. You know how the best ideas come to you in the shower? Well, that’s what creating does for me and for many people. The movement and action frees up the mind to do important work of becoming aware and knowing while the body is busy. It’s an interesting thing, really.
So, I encourage you. Explore your creativity… What do you naturally enjoy doing? When do you feel a flow in your activity? Creativity can be traditional in art materials. Expand your thoughts on this…
Creativity includes movement, focus, and intention. Creativity can include a healthy break, flow and certainly interest. Creativity doesn’t have to cost much or anything at all…
These are just some examples beyond sketching, drawing, painting, writing and clay sculpting…
photographing birds while bird watching
crocheting
dancing
using programs to make your own music
playing instruments
baking
using programs to make memory books
woodworking
sculpting found wood or other found objects
refinishing furniture
creating in nature

making toys for your pets
planning and tending a garden
Opening your eyes to see the world again is tough in grief. Give yourself permission to look around. Pay attention to what sparks your interest in the next few days. Pay attention to what catches your eye. This looking around is the FIRST STEP in finding your natural creative process.
Share if you are comfortable… what did you notice in the world that sparked interests for you?
