<p><strong>Growth happens when life changes.</strong> Our perspective changes as we live through new and different experiences. Deliberate thoughtfulness helps make sense of all those changes. </p>
How does our current situation color our thoughts and perspectives?
Heart Connection offers space to creatively explore an intention. That intention may be fed through a quote, a written passage, a current event, or can even be “open” or purely self guided.
The process is simple and powerful. It’s not to be difficult. It’s amazing how the thoughts flow.
Keep in mind HeART Connection is about mindfulness and insight and less about a beautiful end product. The power and beauty is in the process.
<h2>HeART Connection Steps</h2>
<p><strong>1. Allow space and time. Make time for you.</strong> Don't rush. Set aside time and a date for yourself. </p>
2. Focus on your breath and center yourself. Slow your breath to 3 seconds inhale – 3 seconds exhale. Slow your breath further to 4 seconds inhale – 4 seconds exhale. Continue to slow your breath to 6 seconds inhalation with a slow exhale, push to fully exhale.
3. Set an intention. You can do this in a number of ways.
Randomly select a quote or book passage.
Choose a current event that is weighing on your mind.
Explore a recent concern or situation in your own life.
Remain open and free flow in your creating and processing.
4. Pause and Reflect… “What does your creation need?” This allows you to step back and take a moment to attend to how your new way of living informs your perspective.
5. Provide what is needed.
Practice recognizing your needs and then meeting your own needs. So many times, we look outside ourselves to have our needs met. You have the tools and the ability to get it done. This is a step in confidence building. This can be taken into real life by knowing what you can do and when to reach out for support. Do this step! This is important in your growth.
6. Take time to journal about your experience, thoughts, and learning about yourself. This may be a few sentences to time spent on self exploration.
