Quotes- Change the direction

“ I can’t change the direction of the wind, but i can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” – Jimmy Dean

Life is a constant challenge in adjustment… Change is hard for many of us. This quote makes me think of the difficulty of being in-tune enough to notice the delicate changes of the wind. Sometimes the wind is subtle and it can be fierce. It’s clear we need to adjust when there is a fierce wind – it demands our attention just like an intense grief reaction.

How do we attend and adjust when the wind is mild or seemingly not present? Just like the wind, grief is now a part of you, even when it’s mild or seems to be in the background. This time is learning how grief is a part of living. Your person was important to you… Grief is beyond the shock and intense response to loss. Grief is also the living in remembrance and love – finding and recognizing their contribution on your life and even the world.

How are you adjusting your sails (living) to the wind (grief activators) these days?
