Today, we start at the beginning of your loss, your grief. We start at the funeral. This is a first event attended in relation to your loss. This includes a memorial service, celebration of life, or a community event.
This is a day full of moments and memories that can be replayed in your mind over and over. You may repeated return to a mental image or something someone said. Maybe, someone you didn’t expect showed up for you. Perhaps, this day is one you’d rather forget or try not to think about. You may even not remember anything about the actual event, just a feeling about the day.
I realize we start at a tough spot. Take your time through the process. I encourage you to avoid lingering on any one step in the process and try to finish all steps in one sitting. Allow yourself about an hour.
Step 1: List of 4 Key events – add 2 tough moments and 2 moments of support or kindness
Step 2: Create drawing series of 4-8 moments identified in Step 1.
Step 3: Use the front and back of only 1 piece of paper. Write the story.
Step 4: Guided Grief EFT.
It is important to start with the loss so that we can eventually talk about the memories of living. You are courageous, my friend.
